1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Life Chapter ("the app", "the service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. These terms apply to all users of Life Chapter.

2. Description of service

Life Chapter is a gamified self-improvement web application that helps users track goals, habits, and personal development. Features include:

• • Daily task management and logging
• • XP-based progression and rank system
• • AI-powered personal advisor (requires API credits)
• • Reward shop with coin-based redemptions
• • Focus area tracking

The app is currently in beta. Features may change, be added, or be removed at any time.

3. User responsibilities

By using Life Chapter, you agree to:

• • Use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes only (unless otherwise agreed)
• • Not attempt to abuse, exploit, or circumvent the AI rate limiting system
• • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute the app
• • Provide accurate information during setup
• • Not use the app in any way that violates applicable laws

4. AI Advisor feature

The AI Advisor feature uses Anthropic's Claude API to generate personalised advice based on your inputs. By using this feature, you acknowledge that:

• • AI-generated advice is for informational and motivational purposes only
• • It does not constitute professional medical, psychological, financial, or legal advice
• • You should consult qualified professionals for serious personal decisions
• • We are not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated content
• • The AI may occasionally produce inaccurate or unhelpful responses

5. Intellectual property

Life Chapter, its design, code, branding, and content are the intellectual property of the app's creator. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the app without explicit written permission.

Content you create within the app (your goals, logs, stories) belongs to you. By using the AI story feature, you grant us a limited license to process your content to generate your story draft.

6. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

Life Chapter is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:

• • The app will be available at all times
• • Your data will never be lost (export your data from Settings to keep your own backup)
• • AI-generated content will always be accurate or appropriate
• • The app will meet your specific needs or expectations

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Life Chapter and its creator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

7. Beta service

Life Chapter is currently in beta. This means:

• • Features may change or be removed without notice
• • Data loss is possible (we recommend not storing sensitive information)
• • Pricing and plans may change as we move toward full launch
• • Bugs and unexpected behaviour may occur

8. Termination

You may stop using Life Chapter at any time. From Settings you can reset your progress ("Reset & start new chapter") or permanently delete your account and all associated data ("Delete account"). We reserve the right to restrict access to the service for users who violate these terms.

9. Governing law

10. Changes to terms

We may update these terms as the app evolves. We will notify waitlist members of significant changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
